Three Spanish Philosophers cover

Available from SUNY Press.

In April 2003 the State University of New York Press (SUNY) published Three Spanish Philosophers by J. Ferrater Mora, edited and with an Introduction by Josep-Maria Terricabras, Director of the Ferrater Mora Chair of Contemporary Thought at the University of Girona.

Three Spanish Philosophers contains Ferrater's widely praised work on Ortega y Gasset, his equally acclaimed writing on Unamuno and some of the most foundational parts of Being and Death: An Outline of Integrationist Philosophy, the first book in which Ferrater Mora presented his original ideas that were further developed in El ser y el sentido, De la materia a la razon, and Fundamentos de filosofía. This book contains:

  • a general Introduction explaining the context in which these three philosophers wrote and thought,
  • biographical notes on each philosopher, and
  • extensive bibliographical material listing both primary works and secondary sources in both English and Spanish on each philosopher.
